Storm Chasers Pre-Audition Clinic To be Held June 29th and June 30th
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., June 20, 2007 – The Albuquerque Thunderbirds will be conducting a Storm Chasers pre-audition clinic, set for Friday, June 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 30, from noon to 2 p.m. The two day clinic is $30 which includes the audition fee for tryouts in August. Attendees that participate in the clinic will be prepared for the Storm Chasers auditions in August. The clinic will be held at Duke City Stars Dance Center in Albuquerque.
Auditions for the 2007-08 Storm Chasers Dance Team will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5 at Defined Fitness on 4930 McLeod NE. Registration and sign-in will take place between 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, immediately followed by auditions. Sunday’s session will consist of call-backs and will include one-on-one interviews and a final choreographed routine.

There is a pre-registration fee of $10, or $15 on the day of auditions. Potential candidates must be at least 18-years-old and be a high school graduate. In addition to a physical and personal appearance evaluation, candidates will be judged on their ability to grasp and perform choreographed dance routines, maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively.
Applications must be submitted to the Thunderbirds office prior to Friday, August 3 to qualify for the non-refundable $10 pre-registration fee. All applications after August 3 will be subject to the $15 registration fee, which is also non-refundable.
The Storm Chasers will be directed by Leslie Chant for a third season. Chant has 24 years of dance experience including performing with the NBA’s Denver Nuggets dance team (Nuggets Dancers).
The Storm Chasers will provide game night entertainment by performing with high-energy, fast paced routines. They will also act as ambassadors in and around the community by continuing to make appearances throughout the year for private, civic and charitable events on behalf of the Thunderbirds.
