Jam to Host a Preseason Game
BAKERSFIELD, October 27, 2011 – The Bakersfield Jam announced today that they will play a preseason game against Soles de Mexicali, a professional team from Mexico, on Monday, November 21, at 7:00 pm at the Jam Events Center.
“We are excited to welcome Soles to Bakersfield and believe that this exhibition game will be great preparation for our season,” said Head Coach Will Voigt.
Soles are based in Mexicali, playing in the Northern division of Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP). LNBP is a top professional league in Mexico founded in 2000 with 11 teams, expanding to 24 as of 2008. Soles de Mexicali were founded in 2005 and after only two years of existence, won a national championship in 2006. The team is coached by Ivan Deniz O’Donell.
Bakersfield opens regular season at home against the Reno Bighorns on November 25.
